COMPANY Summary

Continuous Composites is on the forefront of additive manufacturing technology using a novel, continuous fiber-based, 3D printing process. Our engineering team is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to further this technology, working in a dynamic, fast-paced, challenging, and cross-functional work environment.

Your role on the team

The ideal Mechanical Engineer candidate will be comfortable working closely with rapid prototyping as well as designing complex mechanisms and machines. They will be responsible for taking mechanical and control systems through the complete product life cycle, from design and development to testing, analysis, and production. This position requires someone who is hungry to learn and has the desire to inspire the world by sharing our incredible technology and company culture.

What we're looking for
EXPERIENCE
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program with 3+ years of experience in related field.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software. (Solidworks preferred)
  • Strong experience creating engineer assembly drawings.
  • Ability to assemble and test mechanical prototypes.
  • Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while staying detail oriented.
  • Ability to understand ASTM standards and know how to interpret test results.
  • Strong desire to work for an early stage startup company on disruptive technologies and make it a success.

Desirable
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Experience with conducting Finite Element Analysis on complex parts and assemblies.
  • Have a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards.
  • Strong knowledge of low volume manufacturing processes. (Machining and Sheet Metal Fabrication)
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, and microcontroller programming.
  • Experience using a microscope to measure properties such as fiber volume fraction and void content.
  • Understanding of accelerated testing methods governing equations, and physics of failure for different failure mechanisms.
